Roger Bernhardt

On Sept. 7, 2021, Roger Bernhardt was called to heaven to serve the Lord, after a long battle with COPD.

Roger was born on June 6, 1955, to Dolores and Eugene Bernhardt. Roger graduated West High School in 1973 and worked for Pierce Packing. During this time, Roger married high school sweetheart Kathleen Moloney in Billings on March 30, 1979. Roger worked with several different companies, like Coco-Cola and Dorothy Lynch. In 1993, Roger opened up Eagle Claim Service Inc. and continue to run the business until the final days.

Roger was a family man and, for those who knew him, he was a great guy. Roger never missed a moment to be with his family, whether it was coaching his son Nathan’s soccer team or coaching his son Seth’s baseball team. Roger also never missed a dance recital that his daughter Benette and son Seth were in. Roger had many hobbies, from hunting to fishing, but his most rewarding hobby was giving back to the community to the less unfortunate kids during Christmastime. Roger would play Santa for corporate and private home events and, with funds he raised, would support families and children at Christmas.

Roger is preceded in death by his father, Eugene William Bernhardt; and grandson Gabriel Francis Bernhardt. Roger is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his son, Nathan Pack  Nicole and granddaughter Kiera); his daughter Benette (granddaughters Airianna, Kaydien, Sicily and Norah); son Seth Bernhardt (Heidi Schuman and grandsons Skylar, Brayden, Casey and Rylan); his mom, Dolores Bernhardt; and sister Sherry Essmann ( Jeff Essmann). Roger is also survived by numerous niece and nephews.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 717 18th St. West.
