Douglas Henman

Douglas Henman

Aug. 8, 2009, our most beloved son, husband and father, Douglas L. Henman, died at the Horizon Hospice House, from cancer. He was 54 years old.

He was born June 18, 1955, in Billings, the only child of Wally Henman and Georgia Coburn.

Doug lived his entire life in Billings, a graduate of West High. Shortly after that he fell in love with Colleen Belstad, from Winnett and they were married Oct. 12, 1974. To this marriage a son, Bradley, was born.

Doug was a lover of life and had deep love and respect for family and friends, especially his aunt Joann Coburn. He was an unselfish person who was always there when you needed him, dropping everything to come to your aid. He loved spending time with his cousins and always had a joke for everyone because he loved to hear people laugh.

He was a hunter and fisherman who loved to build and fly model airplanes as well as build 1/64 scale farm machinery and trucks. Many in the U.S. have his models in their collections. He always had an interesting project going. Thanks to the Blain family for the use of their runway area where Doug flew his model airplanes.

During his lifetime, he did many things. Because he enjoyed being around people, he drove a bus for the city of Billings and for Rimrock stage line. He had to give up driving charter bus when his shoulder was severely injured, and he was no longer able to load and unload baggage.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lydia and Lyndon Coburn Sr., Adele and Leroy Henman; step-brother Scot Moore; father Wally Henman and mother and father-in-law Ethel and Harold Belstad.

Surviving are his loving wife, Colleen; son, Bradley and his girlfriend Shannon Murray; mother and step-father, Georgia and Marion Moore; step-mother, Beverly Henman; brother, Jace (Mary) Henman, all of Billings. Along with several relatives.

Thanks to all of Doug's friends and family who so faithfully called and visited every day during his illness, with a special thanks to Dr. Neiva for going the extra mile, and cousins, Jeff Kaufman and Linda Allen for their extra help.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial services will be Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m. at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave.
