In Memory

Douglas Jensen

Douglas Jensen

Douglas J. Jensen was born May 20, 1955 in Minneapolis. He preferred "Dug" (the past tense of dig) to those who knew him best.

Doug worked as a skilled carpenter for Jones Construction of Billings for 15 years, as well as with Fleetwood Gaming before opening the Gigglin' Grizzly Bar & Casino in Billings Heights. He also served as past President and as Vice-president of the Y.C.T.A.

Although Doug's talents were many, his special gift was his ability to make you smile and connect with people. He cared so deeply about his wife, daughter and stepdaughter, and loved spending time with his many friends and family.

Ask Doug how he was doing and you'd almost always hear "I'm a dandy," or "Just livin' the dream," and sometimes, when the answer eluded him, "It is what it is."

He is survived by the first love of his life, his mother, Ruth Jensen; his wife, partner, and best friend Paula; his "baby girl" KT, Kaitlin; wonderful stepdaughter RheAnyn; brothers Bruce and Brian Jensen and their families.

Doug brought everyone he touched so much joy and love of life. His laugh was infectious, his smile so warm. He never missed the chance to share the latest joke or an opportunity to make you smile. There are no words to express our loss, only to say thank you to all of Doug's fabulous friends for the loving farewell he deserved.

"Love you baby, no s###!!"

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1108 24th St. W. Celebration of life will follow at Gigglin’ Grizzly, 416 Lake Elmo Drive.
