Sharon Moore (Larson)

Sharon (Moore) Larson passed away on Dec. 9, 2013. She was born to William Moore and Ethel (Sturdivant) Moore on Nov. 21, 1954, in Lockwood, Mont. Sharon was one of five siblings. Sharon enjoyed her rural farm life growing up. In particular, Sharon enjoyed taking care of Shetland ponies, which she often proudly displayed in various parades and shows. Sharon graduated from Billings West High in 1973.

Sharon met a young man named James Larson in 1975 during a ski trip with friends to Red Lodge Mountain. Jim noticed that Sharon moved her hands as she spoke. As she spoke, Sharon knocked over the pitcher of beer that was on the table, onto the lap of Jim's leather pants. Sharon's infectious smile warmed many people's hearts. Sharon and James were engaged in 1976 and were happily married in 1977. Sharon remained married to Jim the rest of her life. Jim and Sharon were married for 36 years.

Sharon loved to play tennis at the racquet club where she met her longtime friend, Jeanne

Yeley. Also, Sharon loved to shop as most women do. Sharon would take her friends to the store and help them "accessorize."

Sharon worked throughout much of her life in the medical field, holding employment in various fields of medicine, performing clerical duties such as chair siding, billing, posting accounts and as a medical receptionist. She worked for Dr. Redenius D.D.S., Dr. Janet Dietrich, and most recently worked for Advanced Care Hospital of Billings. Sharon was a compassionate, caring and giving person. Sharon never complained about anything and always looked on the bright side. Often, Sharon donated her time to the community. Sharon served as the secretary for the Rose Park Elementary PTA for several years.

For over 15 years, Sharon volunteered her spare time acting as secretary for Billings Boy Scout Troop 10 and also volunteered as the Popcorn Chairman for Troop 10. For many years, Sharon would accompany the troop to many of their annual summer camps and would personally participate in many events with all three of her sons whom were all members of the troop.

Sharon often enjoyed several varieties of music, including her favorite, ballroom dancing and deeply enjoyed dancing to the music of live bands with her husband Jim. Most often, Sharon would be the first to dance at Alive After Five or at Saint Johns concerts with other dancers following Sharon's lead. Both Jim and Sharon were often accompanied by their friends they had made over the years. Sharon was always such a caring individual and was thought of very highly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sharon is survived by her husband Jim; her three sons Paul, Nathan and Jeremy; her three

brothers, Raymond Moore of Lander Wyo., Ronald Moore of Billings and Roger Moore of Queen Creek, Ariz. Sharon is preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Moore of Soda Springs.

Sharon was an extraordinary person who will be deeply missed by all of those whom had the privilege of knowing her.

Services for Sharon will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at American Lutheran

Church located at 5 Lewis Ave., Billings, MT 59101. A reception will follow services at American Lutheran Church with procession to Sunset Memorial.
