David Peters

David Peters

Being ever so passionate about photography, every photograph David and Valerie Peters took, they took together, and those photographs told the story of their lives.

David was born Oct. 9, 1955, in Billings, to George H. Peters and Betty (Fischbach) Peters. He was married on Aug. 30, 1986, to the love of his life, Valerie Sos. They were married for over thirty years. A sudden heart attack took David’s life on Dec. 29, 2016.

As photographers, David and Valerie traveled the country filming nature’s wonders and wildlife. This lifelong pursuit took them twice to Manitoba, Canada to film polar bears and Hawaii to film whales. With Valerie’s support, they artistically and professionally photographed weddings and other special social events.

David’s knowledge of computers led him to Wood’s Powr-Grip in Laurel, where he found a career in graphics, web content and internet marketing. He cherished a close-knit working relationship with the folks in the marketing department.

David was devoted to his wife and his family. He was especially passionate about raising and inspiring his niece and nephew to be their best. His selfless loyalty developed many lifelong friendships.  His thirst for knowledge fueled his clever and odd sense of humor, and he readily engaged in conversations over any topic especially science fiction, weather and astrology.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie; his parents, George and Betty; son Randy; siblings Dawn (Darrel) Dick, Allyson (Ron) Lauwers, Stephanie Dunagan, Allen, Leonard (Jodi), Lore (Raul) Perez, Phillip (Becky); and many loving nieces, nephews.

You will be missed and never forgotten.
