Daniel Le Schwarz

September 8, 1955  -  October 25, 2025

Daniel Le Schwarz, retired attorney of Yellowstone County and resident of Billings, MT, passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2025 at the age of 70 while returning from visiting grandchildren in Colorado Springs. He passed in Chugwater, WY.

Dan had a passion for history, reading, family, and following Christ. Known for his flamboyant stories, wisdom, and sense of humor, Dan lived his life respected, disciplined, and with purpose. He married Marcella "Marcey" Femling in 1983. Together, they enjoyed traveling, working on rentals, visiting grandchildren, and dogs.

His family has been comforted by many signs since his passing including, but not limited to Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers (his favorite team) hitting a 406-foot home run in the World Series. We all know it was Papa from Montana in the outfield.

Daniel is preceded in death by his daughter Hannah, exactly 32 years to the day of his death. He is also preceded in death by his parents Le Roy and Palma as well as his brother Robert.

He is survived by his loving wife Marcey; his children, Emily (Tony) Hallock, Robert Schwarz, and Margaret (Ryan) Vickers; his sisters, Jo Ann (Jerry) Driscoll and Barbara (Tim) Karst; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and some very special friends.

During his life, Dan expressed the desire for a private funeral, which was conducted last week. He is interred at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Food For The Poor, his favorite charity. To donate please visit, https://foodforthepoor.org
